I Look Up

I listen to the rain hit the glass roof next to me.

I smell musty air and used barbecue coals.

I see the distant sky, no stars, just clouds.

I feel the gravel brush gently underneath my feet.

I taste thick smoke drift back into my lungs.

My senses tell me I’m home.
